Job Details

Recruiting Solutions is currently seeking Financial Analysts for an international accounting and professional services firm in Columbia, SC. This position will be responsible for conducting manual controls testing of client data. Responsibilities include:  

  • Selecting items to test based on instructions from the engagement team
  • Performing the testing procedures (comparison to source documents, recalculation of amounts, inspection/examination of documents and/or approvals)
  • Documenting the results in the controls testing template
  • Understand Work Request instructions and input form with assistance from a supervisor
  • Perform work and provide related deliverables in accordance with User Guide instructions as applied to the Work Request submissions
  • Participate in training (approx. 5 days training followed by a 3 month transition period)
  • Read and maintain working knowledge of the User Guide instructions

 Ideal candidates will possess the following skills: 

  • Extremely detail oriented/focus for following instructions
  • Ability to apply learning from manual controls training and on the job experience to work request instructions
  • Ability to monitor due dates and budgets and to escalate to supervisor where due dates and budgets are likely to overrun
  • Ability to present testing exceptions and/or follow up questions with clear and concise language
  • Well spoken English and professional formatting/documentation. Must be able to explain the follow up items to appropriate team leads
  • Detailed with respect to identifying exceptions and notifying supervisor in a timely manner
  • Uses common sense and some judgment based on prior work experience to identify questions
  • Detailed focus when performing work and good project management skills when managing workload and maintaining timelines
  • Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision
  • Committed to high quality

Requirements

  • 4 bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting , or
  • Associate degree in Finance or Accounting and 2 to 3 years work experience in auditing, accounting, finance, internal/process assurance audit , small business bookkeeping, or similar
  • Experience working within an ERP environment (Oracle, SAP etc) is helpful
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel including text, reference, logical and information functions
